Mr. Gambel is a minor character in the first season of the TV series. He serves as a prosecutor for the Republic of Gilead and acts in that capacity during the trial of Emily and her lover, a Martha.

Mr. Gambel is called upon to present the state's case against Emily and a Martha, who have been accused of gender treachery. He states that this is what the two have been accused of and swears that his report is true, upon which both Emily and the Martha are summarily convicted and sentenced; the Martha to "the common mercy of the state" (i.e., death) and Emily to "redemption."
