History[]
Season 4[]
Aunt Ruth greets Aunt Lydia, excitedly noting that their new Handmaids will replace the stolen children in no time. Ruth tells Lydia to take time to rest, but Lydia says that there is too much to do, and that she wants to work again. More firmly, Ruth tells her again that the girls are no longer her concern, but Lydia responds that they have always been her concern, and that she has served Gilead with everything she has had. She asks Ruth to vouch for her before the Commanders to restore her position. Ruth tells Lydia that she admires her devotion, but that it is presently her time to rest. However, Lydia is restored to her position thanks to blackmailing Commander Lawrence and the Council.[1]
